Does not compare with Chilton. Pictures are bad. explanations are unclear. Most of the information is hard to find. I was hoping to use it as I restore a 72 F100 I recently bought. I am finding myself using internet rather than trying to find anything in this book.
A must have for anyone who has these Ford truck. Lots of good info as always.
I love this book, the in depth walk through is what I need for my first time restoration project. It also has valuable information for the veteran mechanic. I love the fact that it is used and the popular areas of the book i.e. brakes are darkened from the numerous times that section has been accessed with greasy fingers. I bought my truck with no brakes at all, and this guide helped me get the old girl back on the road!!!
It's ok, but check your used bookstore first. This book literally came with a garage sale sticker on it for $2, but the price here was twenty-something.
Very general info on a lot of different older trucks. Detailed enough for most servicing applications .
All the information you need! For the most part. Basic repair and vehicle specs. Easy to use.
Mine is a 1969 F100 with a 360 and 3 speed manual. I am often frustrated by the fact that that this book does not acknowledge that there was a 360 option in "69. Seriously, Chilton, what's up with that? This works for me, but barely, and sometimes not.
Since it's a motor manual I don't "love it", but of course it's a Chilton manual so it covers everything and then some of what I might ever want to know about the systems in my truck. A must have!
